The Master of Medicine (MMed) in General Surgery, is a four-year, full-time specialist residency program designed to train competent general surgeons through structured academic learning and intensive hospital-based clinical practice. The program combines progressive surgical skill development, supervised operative experience, and multidisciplinary clinical rotations in areas such as trauma, gastrointestinal surgery, and surgical emergencies, alongside research training culminating in a dissertation. Graduates are equipped to provide comprehensive surgical care, contribute to teaching, and engage in research addressing surgical diseases and health system needs in Rwanda and similar setting
