The Master of Medicine (MMed) in Pediatric Surgery is a five-year, hospital-based specialist training program designed to prepare physicians for the surgical care of infants, children, and adolescents. The program combines structured academic teaching with progressive supervised clinical and operative training in pediatric general surgery and related subspecialties. It emphasizes competencies in congenital anomaly management, pediatric trauma, neonatal surgery, and minimally invasive pediatric procedures, alongside research and quality improvement training, preparing graduates to serve as competent pediatric surgeons within Rwanda’s health system and beyond.
