Description

The Fellowship in Pediatric Surgery is a subspecialty surgical training program designed to develop advanced expertise in the surgical care of infants, children, and adolescents. Delivered over 2 years through hospital-based clinical training, the program combines structured academic instruction with supervised operative practice in pediatric surgical units. It emphasizes competencies in management of congenital anomalies, pediatric trauma, neonatal surgery, emergency pediatric surgical conditions, and minimally invasive pediatric procedures, alongside research and quality improvement training, preparing graduates to serve as specialist pediatric surgeons within Rwanda’s health system and beyond.
