The Fellowship in Breast Surgery is a subspecialty surgical training program designed to develop advanced expertise in the diagnosis and management of benign and malignant breast conditions. Delivered over 2 years through hospital-based clinical training, the program combines structured academic teaching with supervised surgical practice, including breast cancer surgery and related diagnostic procedures. It emphasizes competencies in breast cancer management, oncoplastic techniques, imaging interpretation, multidisciplinary care, and patient-centered surgical decision-making, alongside research and quality improvement, preparing graduates to provide specialized breast surgical services within Rwanda’s health system and beyond.
