Description

The Fellowship in Adult Infectious Diseases is a subspecialty clinical training program designed to develop advanced expertise in the prevention, diagnosis, and management of infectious diseases in adults. Delivered over approximately 2–3 years through hospital- and laboratory-based training, the program combines structured academic instruction with supervised clinical practice, with strong emphasis on HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, emerging and re-emerging infections, antimicrobial stewardship, and infection prevention and control. It also incorporates research and epidemiological training, preparing graduates to provide specialist care, support public health responses, and contribute to infectious disease research within Rwanda and similar settings.
