The Fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology is a subspecialty clinical training program designed to develop advanced expertise in the provision of anesthesia and perioperative care for infants, children, and adolescents. Delivered over 2 years through hospital-based training, the program combines structured academic instruction with supervised clinical practice in pediatric surgical and anesthetic care settings. It emphasizes competencies in pediatric airway management, safe anesthesia administration, perioperative monitoring, pain management, and critical care support for children, alongside research and quality improvement training, preparing graduates to serve as specialist pediatric anesthesiologists within Rwanda’s health system and beyond.
